Woodside Woodpeckers 5-25-10

I've been seeing Downy Woodpeckers in my neighborhood for the past 4 years, but I wasn't aware they were nesting in the area. I usually just see them during spring and fall migration. This year I was fortunate to find a nest, and today I was able to hear their babies crying from the nest and the parents bringing them food.

I hope this is a sign more migating birds will nest in Queens, I get a little bored of the sparrows, robins and starlings everywhere.
