Citifield Update 4-5-10

I visited the Citifield nest last night to see how Sid and Nancy were holding up in regards to Opening Day for the New York Mets. The game was over when I got there, but many stragglers and tailgaters remained. The place looked like such a dump. The parking lot was spotless last weekend, and now it was littered with dropped food, plastic bags/cups, and of course tons of bottles and cans. There were big piles of garbage bags left behind where the biggest groups of tailgaters gathered. It was as if they brought garbage from home to dump there. The gulls were having a great time scooping up all the leftover hot dogs, burgers and sausages left behind. The place was swarming with cops as well, so I didn't take any pics inside the parking lot. I managed to find both Sid and Nancy perched in their favorite spot just east of the Grand Central Parkway.

The nest is still a work in progress, but hopefully soon she will lay her eggs.
