June to August Review

The Unisphere nest has produced 3 fledglings this year. 2 of the fledglings had to be taken to rehabilitators after rough landings that left them grounded and unable to make it to the safety of a tree.
The rehabilitators, Bobby and Cathy Horvath, cared for the birds and released the birds in mid June. A link to an article about the event can be found here http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/queens/2009/06/25/2009-06-25_in_queens_hawk_chicks_take_flight_from_unisphere_and_land_hard.html

As of August 25, all three fledglings are doing well, and their parents have begun working on a new nest for next season.
