Nine more Kestrel fledglings released, this time in Cunningham Park 7-16-10

Bobby and Cathy Horvath invited me along for another Kestrel release one week after releasing nine in Flushing Meadow Park. This time it was decided that Cunningham Park in Queens would be an ideal place for a release. Cunningham Park is home to Great Horned Owls and Red-tailed Hawks already, so Kestrels will make a nice edition to the park, which consists of 358 acres, 240 of which are considered forest land. Bobby contacted some Urban Park Rangers to partake in the event, as well as some Parks Department employees. 18 Kestrels released, 17 more to go.

Everyone was excited to get a chance to release a Kestrel
This Kestrel was not to eager to leave its perch (I wonder why?)
